Lubricants & Slips
Polyvel masterbatches a wide variety of additives that modify the surface of the resin to reduce the coefficient of friction. The additives used include:
These masterbatches are used by injection molders, film processors and compounders to add surface lubrication and mold release properties directly into the resin pellet feed without release sprays or pre-compounded resins. This class of masterbatches can also serve as a process aid. In the case of molybdenum disulfide in nylon, the active ingredient will promote the growth of a fine crystalline structure through nucleation, raising the heat distortion temperature.

Product: RE20 & RO20
Industry: Film/Sheet Manufacturing, Injection Molding
Function: Erucamide and oleamide based release aids for polyolefin and TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) processing
RE20 & RO20 Slip Masterbatches
Polyvel’s RE- (erucamide) and RO- (oleamide) series of slip additive masterbatches for film are:
The high coefficient of friction of LDPE, LLDPE & PP film contributes to adhesion to film or metal surfaces in production. Low erucamide or oleamide levels decrease the film coefficient of friction and reduce or eliminate sticking.
When using these masterbatches, the new coefficient of friction will be a function of both bloom time and letdown.
Product: RM40 & RM70 series
Industry: Film/Sheet Manufacturing, Injection Molding
Function: MoS2-based internal lubricant for most Nylon grades
Molybdenum Disulfide Masterbatches
Polyvel is the leading supplier of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) masterbatches for internal lubrication of nylon films and injection-molded parts.
Polyvel’s molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) masterbatches enable injection molders to incorporate the benefits and lubricating properties of MoS2 into their molded nylon parts without purchasing costly pre-compounded MoS2 modified resins.
MoS2 is an internal lubricant for nylon compounds. It reduces or eliminates mold drag during molding and acts as a mold release. Post molding component assembly is made easier because of the self-lubricating properties.
