Polyvel Polypropylene Flow Modifier Concentrates CR5 & CR5P Cycle Time & Productivity
Polypropylene flow modifier concentrate for polypropylene injection modling applications
The following chart shows that by lowering the processing temperature
during molding, the melt temperature decreases from 405°F to 375°F,
while the injection process is unchanged.
| Temperatures ° F Zone | | | | |
| 1 | 2 | 3 | Melt Temp (F °) | Injection Press., PSI | Cycle Time, Sec. | Parts Per Hour |
| Base
Resin* | 390 | 400 | 400 | 405 | 650 | 38 | 95 |
| 1 PHR CRS | 345 | 350 | 360 | 375 | 650 | 26 | 140 |
*Base Resin = Eastman's Tenite Polypropylene (Homopolymer 4230, MFR=4)
Mold Temp = 80 °F
As a result of lower melt temperatures, the cycle
time can be reduced by 32% from 38 seconds down to 26 seconds. As a
direct result of reduced cycle time, productivity increased 50% from 95
parts per hour to 140 parts per hour.
