Polyvel Announces Participation at SPE Polyolefins Conference in Houston, TX
From February 21 to February 24 Polyvel representatives will be in attendance at the SPE 2010 Polyolefins conference in Houston, Texas. Dean Dodaro, of technical sales, will also be making a presentation for the Polymer Additives and Modifiers Division. December 2009
New Viscosity Modifier Masterbatches Increase Efficiency, Cut Costs
Announcing several viscosity modifier additive products for processors using recycled PET:
These melt additives cause a controlled increase of recycled PET’s intrinsic viscosity (molecular weight), resulting in better melt strength, tensile strength and weld strength. By enabling greater use of internal or purchased regrind and recyclate, it also results in material cost savings.
CT-T01 is designed to increase PET strapping tensile and weld strength; CT-T03 and CT-T04 (FDA) are designed to increase sheet extrusion melt strength. For PLA, Polyvel’s CT-L03 and CT-L02 perform the same functions. In addition, these products are compatible with CPET, APET, PETG and other condensation polymers such as nylon. June 2009
Polyvel Introduces Specialty Odor Managing Masterbatches
Polyvel Inc has developed a number of specialty, odor managing masterbatches tailored to specific applications and resins. They are shown to be effective in recycling, wood polymer composite (WPC), and chemical contamination. Polyvel has been able to tailor these masterbatches in a number of resins, including: HDPE, LDPE, EVA, PP, and Nylon. Odor managing masterbatches are available with food contact approval and custom formulating is offered for particular functions and resin systems. Typical applications are consumer products and manufacturing processes.

NPE2009
Polyvel attended NPE2009 in Chicago, IL with much success. Alot of buzz was generated around Polyvel's emerging odor management product line and the improved polyethylene antifog VF152. A total of six representatives from Polyvel were on hand answering questions and meeting with prospective buyers and vendors. Overall, it was a very productive show and immediate business is expected to be generated.

Improved PE Antifog VF-152
Polyvel Inc, a recognized leader in antifog masterbatches, announces an improvement to it’s polyethylene antifog VF-152. The improved formulation works in both mono- and co-extruded films. VF-152 is versatile enough to work in hot and cold application and is FDA compliant at any letdown level. Thermoforming has no effect on performance and this updated formula works faster and over longer periods of time than any previous version. Additionally, the required letdown remains 3.0 – 5.0% making it extremely cost efficient. VF-152 works in most grades of PE including: LDPE, HDPE, and LLDPE. January 2009
Website Update
Polyvel’s website has been updated with revised formatting and new content relevant to our expanding product line. New masterbatches include: PLA additives, silicone release aids, antimicrobials, and peroxide formulations for crosslinking.

Polyvel’s CT-C01 Enhances PVC Production
Polyvel Inc introduces CT-C01, a PVC profile extrusion process aid. When used in flexible or rigid PVC formulations, this masterbatch free flowing pellet form shows increased throughput (over 20%) at a 1% letdown rate. PVC properties are unaffected, while lower amps and torques result in less sharkskin, and orange peel surface imperfections.

Improve Performance with Polyvel’s New Peroxide Masterbatches
Polyvel Inc announces a line of free flowing, pelletized peroxide masterbatches for crosslinking polyethylene. This PCL series is easier and safer to use than alkyl peroxide powders and liquids and eliminates "bridging” seen with powders, more accurate dosing leads to more reliable properties. When these masterbatches are let down into polyethylene, through extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, or rotational molding, the plastic exhibits greater melt strength, tensile, flexural, and impact strength. Part thickness and weight can be decreased while existing properties are maintained. Longer shelf is another advantage of peroxide masterbatches, as they retain their properties longer than liquids and powders. Polyvel offers several peroxide chemistries, at 1% to 40% loading, in resins compatible with your applications.

Laser Markings Facilitated with New Additive MasterbatchPolyvel Inc announces laser additive masterbatches for PE, PP, TPU, PC, PET, PBT and PVC applications. Plastic parts can be laser marked using fast YAG laser technologies until now only suitable for markings on metal. These masterbatches are used in a polymer, through extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, or rotational molding. Examples of applications for laser markings on plastics are electrical, bottle caps, labels, and packaging.
April 2008
Polyvel’s HP-N01 Plasticizer for Nylon Simplifies ProductionPolyvel Inc announces a pelletized plasticizer masterbatch for compounding into nylon 6. HP-N01 is 40% N-butyl benzene sulfonamide in nylon 6 resin. HP-N01 pellets are easily blended or co-metered with nylon pellets into an extruder. The pelletized product eliminates handling and exposure problems with this volatile liquid.

VF150MW Antifog: Polyvel Offers Food Packaging Advantage
Polyvel Inc announces VF150MW, antifog masterbatch for polyolefin microwaveable food packages. VF150MW meets FDA 21CFR 176.170c Table 2, b – h, which defines the conditions of use and includes exposure to boiling water for foods types listed in Table 1. VF150MW antifog performance is excellent as rated by ICI’s visual rating system for hot food packaging.
January 2008 Polyvel Announces Dr. Robert Axelrod as Sr. Technical Advisor
Dr. Axelrod had been Vice President of Sale and Marketing for the company since 2002 and has been instrumental in the success of the company during the last 10 years. He will continue to provide support to new business and new product development for the company.

Polyvel Introduces VF152 Antifog for PE Film ApplicationsPolyvel Inc., recognized as a leader in antifog masterbatches for polyolefin food packaging, has announced the second generation product VF152 for hot and cold coex or monolayer LDPE film applications. VF152 begins to work faster than previous versions. It is more efficient in reducing condensation, resulting in a clearer, more transparent film. VF152 is 20% active and typically only requires a 3% to 4% letdown, making it an extremely cost effective choice.
